Eight Months Old!

Our sweet baby girl turned 8 months old on June 29th! This past month has been filled with crawling and learning to pull up on things to stand. Over the course of the month, Roger had to lower Avery's crib from level 1 to level 2, and then quickly again down to the lowest level 3. Avery also learned how to sit herself upright from laying down or from a crawl position. This baby is growing up just way too fast!

According to the bathroom scale, Avery weighs about 19 pounds. She didn't gain much weight over the past month, and I attribute this to her CONSTANT movement. Since she didn't like pureed peas, we now give her little peas as a finger food. She loves them! Other new foods this month included watermelon, mango, and cheese. Just like both of her parents, Avery loves queso!

To eat all of her yummy food, Avery uses her four teeth - two on the top - two on the bottom. Based on the drool level, we expect a few more soon. The teething has also brought on an unfortunate side effect - Avery had her first case of diaper rash this month. Both the pediatrician and our expert nanny have told us that this is often a teething side effect. Thankfully, we got that under control quickly!
