Friday night was our last night in Kansas City. With 95% of our worldly belongings on a moving truck, we checked into a hotel with the baby and the cat. The hotel was located on the Country Club Plaza, about 1 mile from our house. The irony of the night was that the view from our hotel room looked right out to the apartment (down to the specific unit!) that Roger and I rented when we were in Kansas City the summer of 2005 for Roger's internship. It was definitely one of those moments that makes you stop and reflect...
Avery was full of spunk when we got to the hotel, and she thought it was so fun to be a little monkey jumping on the bed. After all of the excitement of the previous few days, Avery soon tuckered out, and she was not a happy camper! Poor baby! Colby adjusted well to the hotel room, but giving him his sedative for the plane trip on Saturday morning was a bit of a challenge. The key was to close the door to the bedroom area so that he couldn't hide under the bed. It was nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get him out from under there. Once I was able to get the little kitty sleepy medicine in him, all was well!

My mom met us at the airport, and after helping with all of our bags, Roger transferred to a flight to New Orleans. Avery and I are so excited to spend the next few weeks hanging out with all of the grandparents, while we wait to close on our new house in New Orleans!!
