Avery had her four-month checkup on Monday morning, and all is good! Here are her current stats:
Weight: 14 pounds, 14 ounces (75th percentile)
Height: 26" (95th percentile)
Avery has pretty much maintained her percentiles over the past few months. Despite being tall, she fits perfectly in 3 to 6 month sized clothes. We are still nursing/pumping, and my goal is to make it until Avery is six months old. Since she has doubled her birth weight, Dr. Davis told us that we could start giving Avery rice cereal, followed by veggies and then fruit in a few weeks.
We are diligently working on tummy time, and Avery is slowly accepting it. She can hold herself up very well, and she has started to "body surf," where her arms and legs really get going. Avery LOVES her exersaucer, and we love that we can get a few things done (i.e. eat dinner) while she entertains herself. Her teacher has told me that she prefers the Jumperoo while at school. My mom will tell you that this was MY favorite thing as a baby, so it must run in the family!
Avery smiles at everyone, and she is a big talker. When she really gets going, she happily squeals. Avery has great hand/eye coordination, and she does a great job of holding onto many objects. We still offer a pacifier, but Avery typically only wants it when she is sleepy.
We can't wait to see how Avery likes the rice cereal!
