Three Months Old

At 3 months, Austin was 18 pounds, and 26.5 inches.
This is 1/2 pound more than his daddy weighed at the same age.
I adore my BIG boy!!

4th of July in Texas

For the 4th of July weekend, we took a quick trip home to Houston. This was our first big logistical challenge with two children. Once again, we used our GoGo Baby Wheels for Avery's carseat - it is one of my favorite baby gadgets of all times!

Avery had her own seat on the plane, and Austin was a lap child. When we got on the plane, we decided to let Avery sit in the seat without her carseat. That was a BIG mistake! She did not understand the concept of sitting still with her seatbelt on. She basically fussed the entire trip. Thankfully, it was only an hour flight. Austin, on the other hand, was very well behaved!

My sister and Roger's sister were both in town for the weekend, and Avery loved every minute of playing with her cousins, Mackenzie and Valentina!

On Saturday, we went to Shelby Dawson's third birthday party. It was a wonderful princess party, and Avery had a great time running around and playing with all of the kids. While we were there, Austin met his future girlfriend, Lily Dawson, for the first time. Lily is 10 days older than Austin, and they were just as cute as could be!

Newborn mommas - Jamie and me

On Sunday afternoon, Austin and I went to visit Lauren and her kiddos. Lauren is truly Super Mom! She makes having multiple children look so easy. I have such admiration for her! Here is Austin with another future girlfriend, Claire. Claire is three months older than Austin; I guess he likes older women!

Our trip home on Monday was much easier than our outbound flight. We kept Avery in her carseat on the plane, and she (and Austin) slept the entire flight. I don't know when we will make it back home again, but it was sure nice to be there for a few days!

A Trip to the Circus!

The Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus came to town, and we were so excited to take Avery! I thought it was fitting when Avery decided that she wanted animal crackers for a snack that morning. I tried to make it educational by discussing each animal, but whatever - she just likes to eat them!

If you know me well, then you know that I cannot pass up an opportunity to dress the kiddos to match the theme. This was a perfect day for that! Even Austin was sporting some circus gear!

Since most kids are scared of clowns, I wasn't sure how Avery would react to meeting them. However, this is the child that begged the Easter Bunny at the mall to hold her, so go figure! We loved the girl clowns!

You know she was trying to climb up onto the motorcycle!

With the help of a big bag of cotton candy, Avery did a FANTASTIC job of sitting in her seat to watch the show. I had Austin in the Baby Bjorn, and he slept through the entire show! Roger joked that perhaps we needed to invest in silly clown music, fireworks, and a loud cannon to help Austin sleep that well each night at home!

These were our favorite performers!

One Month Old

Just look at that handsome little face! At one month old, Austin is approximately 12 pounds. That means he has gained 1 pound per week!! Nights are still very rough. Austin wakes up 3 or 4 times per night to eat, and getting him back to sleep is a challenge after each feeding. Hopefully, we will work this out soon!

Father of Two!

This was Roger's first Father's Day as a daddy of two!

The boys relaxed and watched (or slept through) the Astros game.
While the boys slept, Avery and I played with her dolls. Gram made Petal an outfit to match Avery in Matilda Jane!

I tried to get a picture of Austin and Avery together, but I wasn't too successful! Avery was more interested in twirling around in the mirror.
And Austin wasn't too thrilled with the idea of cuddling with his sister at the moment. I thought it was hard to get one child content and happy for the camera, but two might be impossible!
